Four days and counting

By shaskivodsk

Preparations are underway for a Sunday departure.  Russian phrases may be limited to “please” and “thank-you”. We’ll study on the plane possibly with the aid of a podcast of Russian phrases.

Right now our biggest concern is whether or not we will have internet access. Possibly a mixed blessing if we are completely cut off from the rest of the world, almost as frightening as no cell phone contact.

Petrozavodsk will be an adventure for us since it is a relatively small city, population ~ 100,000. There is very little information available from tourist internet sources so I plan to take lots of pictures for posting to internet travel sites.

  1. Your Neighbor Says:

    “pri-VYET” = hello

    “spah-SEE-buh” = thank you

    “puh-ZHAL-stuh” = please

Now you have to put in some categories for your posts – mine has a “just bitching” category, which I’ve been re-reading tonight. Such Fun.
